Video Editor
Stage Director
Opera Professional

After a lifetime devoted to music and theater, I
have fallen in love with a new creative outlet. Video
editing combines many of the technical and inventive
tools which were so essential to theater directing.
This work inspires me to explore new ways to connect artistically.

Theresa D’Aiuto Sokol was an opera singer, recitalist and music teacher in a career that lasted over forty years. She is an accomplished stage director with more than twenty-five opera and theatre productions to her credit. She has directed for regional opera and theater companies and at the University of South Florida where she served as Coordinator of Opera and Professor of Voice.  Ms. Sokol sang extensively in European opera houses including Berlin, Trieste, Essen and Wuppertal and performed with orchestras in Europe and the US. An avid recitalist and chamber music collaborator, she sang in China, Canada, Germany, New York at Lincoln Center and Town Hall and throughout the Eastern US. Ms. Sokol holds degrees from Manhattanville College in New York and the University of South Florida.

After retiring from her performing and teaching career, video editing offered a natural extension of her creative interests. She is an active volunteer for the USF chapter of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, where she produces marketing and special interest videos for their website and promotional uses. Ms. Sokol is fluent in German and French and is the co-editor of OLLI Connects, the OLLI-USF weekly blog.
